| My husband and I went rounds about what type of car seat to purchase for our daughter. I had read many reviews about the Britax Marathon, and he follow Consumer Reports. He did not want to spend a lot if we didn't have to. We agreed to buy the Britax for my vehicle and the less expensive (Evenflo Triumph) for his vehicle. <br /><br />When we first installed the car seat it was a bit challenging, but truly once you do it, it is not a big deal after that. <br /><br />As many others have mentioned this is a very comfortable car seat. My daughter loves this seat. In my husband's car seat her head would always fall forward even in the farthest position back when she would sleep and she always appeared uncomfortable. That does not happen w/ the Britax. She just lays back and sleeps. <br /><br />I have washed the cover a few times. I was worried it would be difficult as some have mentioned to me what a pain it is to clean their car seats, but I found this to be very simple to get off. It is easy to wipe down or vacuum any crevices also.<br /><br />Tightening/loosening the straps and seats on the child is very easy also. I have found it very difficult to adjust the straps on my husband's car seat in comparison. The Britax is very simple, it is a matter of lifting a notch to loosen the straps, and then pulling the strap back down to tighten. Adjusting the straps for height is a bit more complicated because you feed the straps through the back, so they need to be pulled out and then re-threaded. It seems I have only had to adjust them once so far and we got my daughter at 9 months, she is now 2 1/2. I did the re-threading when I was taking it out to wash the cover, so no big deal.<br /><br />The car seat is very sturdy and extremely safe. This seat does not budge at all! I feel confident that if something were to happen my daughter would be completely safe using this car seat. <br /><br />When all was said and done, my husband said to me, "I wish we had gotten the Britax for my car too!" | |

| The Britax Marathon is an easy to use car seat, installs easily in a large range of vehicles, and has nice comfort features (nice, comfy cover that is easy to remove and wash, non twisty straps, built in locking clips). Two of my kids rode in Marathons from the time they outgrew their infant seats until age 4-5, outgrowing it by height long before they hit 65 lbs.<br /><br />My one caveat is that although Britax says you can use this seat for newborns, the harness slots are too high to do so. According to the user's manual, the harness slots need to be AT or BELOW the child's shoulders, but even the lowest slots are too high for the vast majority of newborns.<br /><br />As much as I loved the Marathons I bought for my 3rd and 4th children (purchased in 2003 and 2006), I didn't buy another for my 5th child. Britax has been very slow keeping ahead of companies like Graco, Sunshine Kids, The First Years and Safety First, and now seats with many of the same features are available at a more affordable price, which kind of diminishes the value of Britax seats. | |

| I installed the Marathon about a month ago in my Mazda5. I have 8-month-old twins, and getting them in and out of the car efficiently is pretty important. I love the strap system--it seems very stable and it's goes around the boys' arms easily without any loosening and tightening (as I needed to do with my infant seat). The crotch area is a little tight but once they are in the boys don't seem to mind.<br /><br />Installation was a bit difficult as the strap used to secure to the latch system was not long enough to give me enough slack to easily attach the seats while the seat bottom was up. I ended up attaching one first, closing the seat bottom, and then wedging the second connection between the seat bottom and back.<br /><br />The strap adjustment was not as difficult as I expected. I recommend putting your child in the seat to figure out the height needed before you attempt your first trip. Takes about 5 minutes to adjust both straps. | |

| I bought our Marathon after extensive research and looking. I wanted the safest and most comfortable seat for our little one. I was thrilled the first time I installed the seat rear facing in our SUV. It was easy to do and fit well. All convertible seats seem big and bulky, but I was pleased at how easy the install went and could definitely tell that our little one was comfortable. The Strap adjustment is easy, I like the HUGS, and the velcro for the straps on the sides is an awesome added feature. I haven't tried the versa tether or forward facing position yet, but when I do the manual is easy to follow. <br />I think this seat is worth the cost to keep my baby safe and comfortable. I feel confident we got the right one and like it that we can use this seat until 65lbs. Also- the cover pops right off so cleaning will be a snap! | |

| We bought the Britax Marathon when our son outgrew his infant car seat...that was nearly five years ago! This seat is easy to install in any car. Easy to clean. The seat belts on it have not worn down or curled up as I see in many other friend's car seats that are not Britax. We were rear ended a few months ago and our son was with us....knowing that he was in a top of the line seat in terms of safety and that we have always taken the time to ensure the seat belt is properly on, eased some of worries associated with this situation. This is why our new booster is also a Britax. It arrived today. I know that the price tag on Britax is an eye opening sticker shock for some but until you've been involved in an accident the only true eye opener is that your child's safety really has no price. | |

| I have three children and all of them had a Britax Marathon car seat. We went through three other car seats trying to find one that was comfortable, easy to install, made well, and most of all - safe. We decided to bite the bullet and spend the money on a Britax. By far the best car seat we've owned! We always felt it was the most capable of protecting our children in the event of an accident. Very easy to install as well. I particularly loved how tight and secure we could secure it to the seat. This car seat is made very well also. We have had the latest one for 4 1/2 years and it hardly appears used. All I need to do is give it a bath and it'll look brand new :)<br /><br />I would highly recommend this product to everyone!! I know it's pricey, but it is very much worth every penny!! | |

| Purchased this car seat for my husband's car, we already have the Marathon (mariposa) in mine. I shopped around and at the time it was on sale and with coupons, BRU had the best price online I could find. I am not crazy about the cover just because it is so dark and being summer right now, I think it is extra warm for my daughter but I'm sure once the fall comes around it won't be an issue at all. The fabric IS very soft and comfortable. My daughter is 15 mos. and sits comfortably rear facing and we intend to keep her that way as long as possible. I think the install with this seat is tough just until you get the hang of it. Love the design, the velcro patches to hold the straps in place. Very happy with this carseat! | |

| This is a fabulous car seat. I am so impressed with it, from top to bottom. I was debating between the Marathon and the Boulevard. I didn't mind the extra cost of the Boulevard, but thought my daughter would like the comfort of the Marathon better. Well, I bought the Marathon (and I don't know if my daughter would have liked the Boulevard or not), and my daughter LOVES it! Although my eight month old is generally a VERY happy baby, hardly ever crying...in the car, she was crying 90% of the time in her infant car seat. Now, she is a happy little thing in the car, just from the switch to this car seat. It was easy to install, easy to put her in the car, easy all the way around. LOVE IT! Thanks Britax! | |

| Our 7 month old is growing fast - already 20 lbs and 28 inches... we had the infant/GracoSung Ride and LOVED that also... but he is just too big to carry in that anymore, so we have move onward and upward - we love this seat, it fits in our 04 Jeep Liberty and actually provides us with more room for the front seat to recline than the infant seat did. Our little guy seams to love it also - no more struggles to get into the harness which is simple to utilize.. the seat was easy to install (after I located the latches hiding under the seat cover!). I highly recommend!!! | |

| We were hesitant to spend the extra money on a Britax, but so glad that we did. It is the ONLY seat that has 2 LATCH anchors which makes the base very stable and no movement whatsoever. Our son loves to face forward and looks very comfortable in his seat. when he sleeps in his seat, his head does not look awkward at all. However, not the best seat for rear-facing. Our son is very tall for his age and we tried to keep him rear facing but there was absolutely no leg room. Did a lot of research on forward facing seats and this was by far the best seat! | |

| This seat is just OK. We have had this seat for about a year and a half now. My daughter doesn't seem content in this seat for extended periods of time, even with the DVD player going in the back seat. THe crotch strap always gets stuck under her butt when she gets in the seat. On top of that it does not wash well. Also, you have to take the entire ar seat out of your truck/cat to adjust the straps. This included taking off the cover, padding and then re-thredding the straps and putting it all together again. It's not a horrible car seat but I would expect a lot more for the price that we paid for it. We purchased a less expensive seat for my son and couldn't be happier with it! I would not suggest that my family/friends get this seat for their children. | |

| This seat looks very nice and has a great safety rating. The only problem is that it just doesn't quite fit my son correctly. He is in the 50th percentile in both weight and height, and still seems to be angled incorrectly in it. I know that the seat is installed properly, but he just isn't as comfortable as he was when he was in his carrier (Graco SafeSeat). | |
