Good price, a bit big, worth the price

This seat was a good option for my very tall but skinny 3 yr old. We really wanted him in the 5 pt harness, but very few are rated for higher weights. Its hard to figure out sometimes because they often turn into a belt positioning booster which doesn't use the 5 pt harness. Anyway, this seat worked for us until my son turned six. He still only weighs 47 lbs but is 4 ft tall. The only reason we took him out was because the belts simply weren't long enough to loosen easily when we got him out. He still had one more rung to go on the shoulder straps, but I like to loosen the straps when I get him out and this was just too short for that at this point. That said, he still fits in it fine for a belt positioning booster and its comfy. He actually slouches in a bit which makes it easier for him to sleep on long rides. It sits him a little low to see out the windows thought. Overall, this was a great choice over some of the really pricey models that keep a kid int eh 5 pt harness at higher heights and weights. I'd like a lot more options in this category. I agree with the other review on the size. We use this in our Toyota Sienna minivan. I couldn't' imagine getting it in an airplane and probably not in a small car.

GREAT for large toddler or child age 4-6

Bought this seat almost 2 years ago for my son when he was turning 4. He will now be turning 6 soon and we still use and love this seat. I chose this seat because it was one of the only ones available to use with a 5pt harness for a child over 40 pounds.
If you see a crash test done with child size dummies in booster seats, you would see a child under 65 pounds gets thrown around like a rag doll when they aren't in a 5pt harness.
My son doesn't mind being in it (doesn't know any other way to travel!) and is perfectly comfortable. I drive with the piece of mind that if, God forbid, I was in an accident with him in the vehicle he would be MUCH safer in this seat than in a booster with a simple seat belt holding him. I intend to keep him in it for at least another year.
I should add though, that I drive a mini van so it fits nicely, but it may be difficult to fit this large seat in a small car. Also, the seat stains easily and is NOT easy to clean.

Great seat for preschoolers.

I had bought my kids a regular booster when they outgrew their carseats. After many battles over keeping the shoulder strap on their shoulders, I decided that a 5 point seat was much safer and less stressful for me. I did tons of research and found this one to be the best for the money. I love this seat. It fits my almost 5 year old that weighs 42 lbs. and my 3 year old that is 38 lbs. They both have plenty of room left to grow in it. It is so soft and has extra removable padding in it. My kids still fit with the padding in place. They both say that it is very comfortable, and if they fall asleep, they are still supported. I was looking at buying the Britax, but just couldn't see spending the money when this one is so great!

the best ever

This car seat is so big that even I can fit in. My son, who is 5 now (44in, 42lbs), is still using 5 point harness and it will fit him perfectly for another 2 years or so. The other feature that I like a lot is that he still can't open harness – that little red button between legs. My son likes to do things before he thinks about safety and with another younger kid this gives me time to get them both out of the car safely. He has been in this car seat for almost 2 years now and I plan to buy another one for my husband's car (I'm glad to see it's still available for sale). LOVE THE SEAT!!! Although, it is not for kids younger than 3.

perfect carseat

it's so easy to install and take in an out of cars when we have to swap. it works with our old car with lap belts AND shoulder belts. i feel safer having my son in the internal harness up to 65 pounds cause he's in a high percent for weight and height. this carseat is amazing. the armrest covers come off which is great cause that's the part we'll probably be washing the most often.
the belt system is exposed in the back so you don't have to screw off anything or take the cover off to access it! it's so easy for my toddler to fall asleep in and very comfy. i wish our seats were this comfortable up front!

Good booster seat

I really like the car seat and got it specifically because I thought that my son could use the five point harness until 65 pounds, however the directions say that he is too big at 43 pounds. I was a little upset because the directions were different from what was online. I also get frustrated because this seat was only available online and I couldn't tell when it was manufactured for the expiration date. For some reason this seat got excellent reviews in crash tests [...] It is a very good seat, but is not one that my son can fall asleep in so is good for short trips, but not for long ones.

Great for my big little boy.

This is a great carseat for my 21 month old who weighs 42 lbs (he's all muscle and is three feet tall already). The removable padded seat cushion was wonderful on our 3 and 4 hour flights and he had no trouble sleeping in it. One important thing to note, it is very wide. It was a bit of a squish to fit in the airplane seats on the first two flights and had to be lifted up above the seatbacks to fit down coach. Also, it does not fit in the seats of a Continental 737-700 plane. He had to sit in a regular plane seat on the way back.

perfect,great,love it.,best one

BEST Car Seat!!!!!

YAY for this seat!! My daughter is 2 and is a bit chunky. We tested a lot of seats for comfort and durability. She fits great in this seat with lots of room to grow. She is so much more comfortable and tells us she likes the seat. She was basically stuffed into her other one. The seat is big but light and super easy to install. Best part, it will carry her right through the end of the car/booster seat stages. Highly recommend

Very pleased!

I am very happy with my purchase of this carseat. I was trying to find something a little cheaper than my Britax Frontier to put in our other vehicle. My son loves his new seat and is very comfy riding in it. It is hard to find a seat that has a larger weight limit for a 5 point harness. I was very happy to have found this one.

Do not buy this!

I just bought this 6 months ago for my 4yr old who is only 34lbs! I bought it because of the 5 point harness that goes up to 65lbs well NO child will ever use it when they are 50 let alone 65 so do not waste your money! When the straps are on the highest slot they do not reach fron to back so you can't hook them!!! Second my son is tall and skinny so unless you have a bigger child you will not get the straps as tight as they need to be. I did not realize that until summer because of his winter coat! Second I just took it apart to was the whole seat cover (usally I just was the smaller one) and it took me 45 min to put it back together!!! I am going to bye a new car seat and now I am out [$], but his safety is more important than money :) Oh and it did not come with a cup holder my fault I waited to long to call so he does not have one :( Overall this car seat is not a very good choice!!!!!
